HONDA VT750 Shadow ACE (2001-2002) Specs, Performance & Photos

In 2001, the Japanese motorcycle maker released the Honda VT750 Shadow ACE (America Classic Edition), a budget middleweight cruiser that brought a host of eye-pleasing accents and great fuel efficiency.

The Honda Shadow was a family of cruiser motorcycles manufactured by Honda since 1983. The line comprised models powered by a V-twin engine with displacement ranging from 125 to 1,100cc.

The bike's aesthetic department was characterized by standard features, such as a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, a two-piece dual seat, a round headlight with a chromed housing a chromed exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels with fat tires.

The suspension system comprised a 41 mm telescopic fork on the front with 140 mm of travel and two side-mounted five-position preload-adjustable shock absorbers on the rear with 90 mm of travel.

As for braking power, the motorcycle packed a single 296 mm brake discs on the front wheel, clamped by a twin-piston caliper, and a drum braking unit on the rear, offering optimum braking performance.

Regarding power, the 2001 Honda VT750 Shadow ACE had installed a 745cc four-stroke liquid-cooled V-twin engine at its core, boasting 45 hp with maximum strength at 5,500 rpm and 62 Nm (46 lb-ft) torque at 3,000 rpm.

The engine was assisted by a five-speed transmission controlled by a wet multi-disc clutch that sent the power to the rear through an O-ring-sealed final chain drive.
