HONDA VT600C Shadow (1994-1995) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Honda VT600C Shadow, also known as the Honda Shadow VLX, was a cruiser motorcycle manufactured by Honda from 1988 through 2008. It was powered by a 583cc V-twin engine assisted by a four-speed gearbox, had a 35-degree rake angle, a chain drive, and a single shock absorber on the rear with a Softail design.

In addition, the motorcycle was also manufactured in Brazil from 1998 to 2005. Compared to other models, it packed a five-speed transmission. The VLX initials represented V-Twin, Lowered, and Extended rake.

Its visual department was characterized by features such as a raked front fork, a round headlight upfront, a wide, pulled-back handlebar, a small fuel tank, a one-piece dual seat, a dual exhaust system, and wire-spoke wheels with a fat tire on the rear.

The bike's suspension system comprised a 39 mm telescopic fork on the front with 145 mm of travel and a spring-preload adjustable shock on the rear with 90 mm of travel.

Braking-wise, the bike packed a 296 mm brake disc clamped by a dual-piston caliper on the front and a 160 mm drum braking unit.

Regarding power, the 1994 Honda VT600C Shadow had installed a 583cc four-stroke V-twin liquid-cooled powerhouse that delivered 41 hp with maximum strength at 6,500 rpm and 52 Nm (38 lb-ft) torque at 3,500 rpm.
