Segment: Sport Touring
Production years: 2006, 2007
In 2007, the Japanese motorcycle maker released the Honda ST1300 Pan European, a sport touring machine that followed Honda's recipe right from the start. It was a reliable, powerful, and comfortable motorcycle that was also wanted by police forces around the world.
The ST1300 motorcycle debuted in 2002 in the European market, known as the Pan European, and in 2003, it was released in the United States market under the ST1300 designation. Compared to its ST1100 predecessor, the bike had several upgrades that enhanced its overall performance.
Some highlighted features included a larger 1,261cc engine that developed more power and torque with smooth and precise throttle response, a two-element fuel tank, and an all-new aluminum frame that used the engine as a stressed member of the chassis.
Also, the bike was dressed in an aerodynamic bodywork with a three-position adjustable windscreen, offering excellent wind and weather protection and reducing rider fatigue on long-distance cruising.
The bike was fitted with a large trunk and side panniers on the rear end, providing more storage. It also packed a comfortable dual seat ideal for touring with passenger grab handles, a digital instrument cluster, heated grips, and lightweight cast aluminum wheels.
In the power department, the 2007 Honda ST1300 Pan European was brought to life by the same 1,261cc four-cylinder fuel-injected engine as its predecessors. It delivered a power output of 118 hp at 8,000 rpm and 117 Nm (86 lb-ft) of torque at 6,500 rpm.
