HONDA ST1100 Pan European (2001-2002) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Honda ST1100 Pan European was first introduced in 1990, powered by a 1,085cc inline four V4 longitudinal-mounted engine that delivered excellent performance and precise throttle response.

The ST1100 was a series of two sport-touring motorcycles, such as the ST1100 Pan European and the later and more giant ST1300 machine. The ST1100 was launched after the success of the Gold Wing model in the United States as a lighter, sportier, and more maneuverable motorcycle.

In 2002, the Japanese maker released the Honda ST1100 Pan European, a sport-touring machine that featured its predecessor's exact appearance and specifications without any changes. Also, in 2002, the maker released another version equipped with ABS.

The bike was built around a computer-designed solid steel frame with a low-mounted engine for good maneuverability and precise handling. It also packed a wind tunnel-tested fairing with a windscreen that provided excellent wind and weather protection.

Some standard features included on the bike were a 28-liter fuel tank with excellent range capabilities, lockable and detachable color-matched saddlebags, tip-over protectors integrated into the lower fairing, padded passenger grabrails, and a fairing-mounted headlight adjuster.

The 2002 Honda ST1100 Pan European, with its 1,085cc four-stroke four-cylinder liquid-cooled engine, generated 100 hp with a peak at 8,500 rpm and 107 Nm (79 lb-ft) of torque at 6,000 rpm.
