The 1949 Harley Davidson FL Hydra Glide was the first House Milwaukee machine that was equipped with a hydraulic telescopic fork, a front suspension that not only increased comfort for the rider, but also improved its maneuverability. It had, at its heart, an air-cooled, four-stroke, 1200cc, "Knucklehead" V-Twin engine mated to a four-speed manual transmission. Other features included soft saddlebags, a single seat, a hardtail look, laced wheels with whitewall tires mounted on them and full-coverage fenders.

The 1936 Harley Davidson FL 1200 Type 74 Knucklehead was powered by a four-stroke, air-cooled, 1208cc, V-Twin powerplant, that was paired to a four-speed manual transmission with a hand-change and a foot clutch, and can reach a maximum power output of 53 horsepower.

Also, it has been fitted with a single seat, soft saddlebags, wide handlebars, laced wheels with whitewall tires mounted on them, a springer front fork, a hardtail rear suspension, a drum braking system both in the front and in the rear, a large headlight, a double cradle steel frame and full-fenders.
