The Aprilia Leonardo was a low-wheel scooter manufactured by Aprilia from 1997 to 2007. The scooter was delivered in four displacements, 125, 150, 250, and 300cc. It was designed using some main features from the second-generation Aprilia SR, including a part of the bodywork, the position of the lights with a high beam, and turn signals.

In 2003, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer released the Aprilia Leonardo ST/SP 125, a scooter created by Aprilia for those riders searching for a fuel-efficient and fun alternative to handle the busy city traffic.

The scooter's aesthetic department was characterized by standard features, such as a full bodywork, a windscreen, a one-piece dual seat, a single exhaust system with a silencer mounted on the right-hand side, and five-spoke alloy wheels.

The 2003 Aprilia Leonardo ST/SP 125 had its soul brought to life by a 124cc four-stroke single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine fed by a Tei Kei carburetor, delivering 12 hp and 11 Nm (8 lb-ft) torque at 7,000 rpm.

The power generated by the tiny engine was redirected to the ground by a CVT gearbox with a dry, centrifugal automatic clutch and a final belt drive, pushing the scooter to 127 kph (79 mph).

As for stopping power, the 2003 Aprilia Leonardo ST/SP relied on a single 220 mm brake disc mounted on the front wheel coupled to a dual-piston caliper and a 190 mm disc with a dual-piston caliper.
