APRILIA Classic 125 (2001-2002) Specs, Performance & Photos

The Aprilia Red Rose and Aprilia Classic were two classic-style motorcycles made by Aprilia from 1988 until 2002. The Aprilia Red Rose was the first model in the series, released in 1988, while the Aprilia Classic was in the second series made in 1992.

In 1991, at the EICMA Show, the Italian motorcycle maker presented the Aprilia Classic 125, the second series model that packed a lower and more modern package and a very low tapered-style exhaust system, just like the ones on Harley-Davidson models.

In 1998, the Italian motorcycle manufacturer released the Aprilia Classic 125, a classic-styled cruiser in its seventh year of production. The bike remained essentially unchanged, packing the exact technical, visual, and performance specifications as previous models without modifications.

The bike was equipped with standard features in the visual department, such as wire-spoke wheels, a single exhaust system, dual side-mounted shock absorbers on the rear, an engine cover, a double seat, a 33-degree raked front fork, and a round headlight upfront.

The 1998 Aprilia Classic 125 had installed a 124cc two-stroke liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine underneath its teardrop-shaped fuel tank. Fed by a Dell'Orto carburetor, the engine delivered an output power of 15 hp with a peak force at 6,600 rpm and 14 Nm (10 lb-ft) torque at 6,500 rpm.

The engine was paired with a six-speed manual transmission that sent the power to the rear wheel through a final chain drive, pushing the motorcycle to 114 kph (71 mph).
