Speaking with Edmund's, smart USA General Manager Mark Webster let slip quite a few more details about the upcoming redesigned smart fortwo, set to be launched next year as a MY 2015.
First of all, as anyone (except Edmund's, for some reason) could have spotted from the countless spy photos that have started appearing in recent months, the car will not grow significantly in size, thus keeping its original spirit well in place.
“I have seen the production version of the Fortwo and it is a change but not a breakthrough,” Mark Webster said. “It's about 3, 4 inches wider and maybe 1 or 2 inches longer” than the current model, he was also quoted by Edmund's.
We don't know about you, but we find that for the smallest production car in the world an increase in width of three or four inches is huge. It's a big gain for any sized-car, for that matter.
Having another look at the most recent spy-shots, where even a production front cand be seen, we tried to see if Webster's words might be true ar they are simply hot air, but we can't seem to decide. What about you, guys?
