Although the Mercedes-Benz GLA is expected to hit the showrooms in pretty much every country where people acknowledged its 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show premiere and sales should technically make the competition weep, the model has also had its fair share of criticism after its unveil.
Despite the fact that approximately 99,98% of all new SUV drivers on the planet never take their cars off-road, especially when talking about the newly-introduced niche of urban crossover/SUVs, there are still people complaining about the lack of hardcore off-road features on the aforementioned vehicles.
The Mercedes-Benz GLA, for example, was criticized for having a ground clearance of only 14 centimeters (5.5 inches), which in the minds of many would make the car inefficient in its natural habitat - the parking of a mall or supermarket.
According to the Germans from MB Passion, Mercedes-Benz is well aware of the low ground clearance “problem” and is apparently on it, because from the middle of 2014 they will apparently offer an off-road package for the GLA that will increase the ground clearance with 4 centimeters (1.6 inches).
