This is one for the ages. BMW didn't even officially unveil the new BMW F80 M3 and the car was already crashed on the Nurburgring, somewhere at the Metzgesfeld area of the course.
Judging by the spy photos we got, the car doesn't seem to be too damaged and, according to our spy photographer, the driver wasn't harmed. At the moment, we don't know exactly what happened but the driver somehow lost control of the car and hit the guard rail.
Such events are expected, especially since BMW really wants the new car to be completely amazing therefore is testing it to the extreme limit. This goes to show, once again, that even experienced drivers can make mistakes and end up on the wrong side of the road.
Thankfully, this time, the driver and the car were on a closed course and help was at hand, even though nobody got hurt. It's a shame to see the car damaged before its official release but it's better to be damaged here, while testing, than later on, on the road with more consequences.
