That’s Stage 3 tuning if you were wondering, and the asking price for the upgrades is €14,669 including value-added tax. In addition to a re-flash of the ECU, improvements are also made to the twin-turbocharging system, exhaust system, and catalytic converters. Customers who don’t need so much suck-squeeze-bang-blow can opt for two more tuning packages from McChip-DKR.

Stage 2 promises 610 PS, 790 Nm, and 310 km/h at the top end while Stage 1 makes do with 590 PS, 750 Nm, and 310 km/h. “Every performance stage has been developed and tested with the utmost care” according to the tuner, but nevertheless, bear in mind these improvements void the car’s warranty.

Aston Martin offers three years of coverage from the get-go, and the extended warranty is optionally available for cars aged up to 15 years old with unlimited mileage and unlimited claim value. In both Europe and the United States, extended warranties are also available for classic cars such as the DB5 and limited editions such as the One-77.

Pricing for the 2019 Aston Martin V8 Vantage starts at $149,995 excluding destination, and the Mercedes-AMG engine is capable of 25 miles to the gallon out on the highway. A manual-equipped model is also available, and soon enough, the V8 Vantage Roadster will be added to the lineup.

Similar to the DB11 before it, the V8 Vantage is underpinned by the Second Century platform. Featuring electric and electronic components from Daimler AG, the two-door sports car could also get a twin-turbo V12 in a few years’ time if Aston Martin can make a case for such an engine.

For the time being, the DBS Superleggera remains the most powerful Aston Martin available in 2019 thanks to 725 PS and 900 Nm from 5.2 liters of displacement.
