The updated BMW 5 Series was launched last week in Seattle and Vancouver, alongside the new BMW F15 X5 and 4 Series. The events also brought us our very own wallpapers with the new models.
For the US market, the choices are a bit limited when it comes to the LCI 5er. In North America you only get to choose out of 4 models (and their xDrive variants), including only one diesel, whilst in Europe, you get to have your pick out of 10 models to which you can add the xDrive versions too.
The newest model in America is the 535d, a car that is being sold in Europe as a 530d. The only diesel 5er for the US comes equipped with the N57 3-liter diesel that delivers 258 HP and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft), is hooked up to the 8-speed automatic gearbox and returns 38 MPG, while keeping the performance numbers in check (0-62 in 6 seconds).
