We rarely, if ever, recommend one particular tuner or customizer, but if you really want a 100% original interior for your car the best place to go is Carlex Design. The guys have been on our radar for a couple of years and every time the released something we brought it to your attention. Their steampunk MINI is our all-time favorite, but this project outshines even that one.
Crocodile leather interiors are nothing new. The Russians at TopCar do one every other month. But Carlex's usual attention for details has taken this project to the next level. An older model Porsche Cayenne has been dressed up in the best black cow hide, beautifully accented with red croc skin.
It's not simply a case of sowing a bunch of pieces together with red string. Looking carefully at the photos Carlex provided us with, we noticed how each panel has carefully selected pieces. Rougher skin from the back of the animal is used for the door cards, while smoother textures are used for the seats. By far our favorite piece is the steering wheel, which has features a perfectly symmetrical piece, suited to the Porsche crest at its center.
We searched the internet high and low for the "Infernus" (this project's name), but we could only find a Lambo+Pagani clone from GTA5. Who would ever order such an outrageous project? Could it be Arnold Schwarzenegger, who loves to wear crock shoes, or is this for a Russian oligarch?
